Lately I am not feeling guilty about purchasing flowers just to create. Ok that isn't entirely true. I still do feel like it's not fair that only I get to enjoy them BUT it's a super great way to learn a lot about different flowers and even the longevity of different varieties. I know I am not in the retail business, but It's always a comfort to confidently create arrangements you know will hold well throughout and even after someones event.
It's a good challenge too. Without parameters, it can be super difficult to have a vision or direction of what exactly you want something to look like. I think this is where true creativity comes. It's also very reassuring because I am proving to myself that I can design something without restraints. After working so many events with reoccurring flower varieties and color schemes, it's easy to make yourself believe you don't have any unique flare. This was a much needed thing before entering head on into this wedding season.
